Trading Cards

TRADING CARDS

For this event we will offer Player Trading Cards.  We supply the first pack of 18 cards at no cost to the player.  Parents have the option to purchase additional packs of cards.  These will be distributed at check-in.

Players will trade cards at the event, similar to trading pins.   This has been a very popular addition to many of our larger events that involve teams from many different states!

In order to receive the cards, the parent/guardian of each player will need to click the link below to complete the information and upload the picture for the card.

Skills

Skills Competitions will take place throughout the day on the two small fields at the entrance of the B Pod from 9:00 – 5:30 PM.  Players can compete at any time during the day when they are not playing.  For those with the later games, we recommend you come earlier than your warm-up/game time to have an opportunity to complete.

Each player can do each drill ONE time only.  They do not have to do all three.

We will have an online leaderboard where players can check throughout the day to see where they placed and who the top ranked players are.

We will award Champion and Finalist awards to the top 2 finishers in each skill by age division.

The Competitions are as follows:

  • GOLDEN ARM (throwing accuracy) where players throw to a target for points based on where the throw hits.
    • Each player gets 8 official attempts.
    • Players must release the ball before crossing the official throw line.
    • Scoring is decided by where the ball hits the targets.
    • Tiebreaker: (1) Most 50-point throws. (2) Least number of zeros scored
  • DIRT DARTS – (bunt drill) where batters will bunt onto a target.  The scores are based on where the ball lands on the target.
    • Each player gets 8 bunt attempts.
    • Taking a pitch or missing a bunt counts as an attempt.
    • Scoring is decided by where each bunted ball lands within the scoring zone.
    • Players may provide their own pitcher or have a USSSA staff member pitch.
    • Tiebreaker: (1) Most 5-point bunts (2) Least number of zeros scored.
  • ROAD RUNNER
      • Player gets 1 opportunity to run the bases as fast as possible.
      • Players will run home to home.
      • No practice runs or running starts.
      • Timer starts when staff member says “Go”.
      • There is a 5 second penalty assessed for each base not touched/missed.
